John Fetterman may look like a James Bond baddie but he could be the saviour of a run-down steel town, reports Ed Pilkington.
It’s an older article, but Fetterman was featured this weekend on ‘Sunday Morning.’ Emphasis mine.

An abandoned bunker in Point Bonita, California (photograph via)
Point Bonita today is part of the largest urban national park in the United States, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It is located 6 miles northwest of Sausalito. In the area you can find a lighthouse, which was the last manned lighthouse on the California coast. You can also find many abandoned buildings (most of them military), one of them is this bunker.

No Lifeguard On Duty series by J Bennett Fitts…
Swimming pools are signs of spiritual optimism, economic prosperity and the hedonistic good life, so the image of a pool dried up and cracked or half full of dirty water becomes a symbol of disappointed hopes and dreams. A sign on the wall by a pool that was filled in with grassy sod says, ”No lifeguard on duty,” which is funny at first, and then starts to sound like an ominous judgment about modern American life.
